For over thirty years, Assemblyman Darrel J. Aubertine was a full-time dairy farmer at his family’s Triple A Aubertine Farm – a sixth generation heritage farm in the town of Cape Vincent. He began public service in 1994 as a Cape Vincent Town Board member, and later served as a Jefferson County Legislator for District 1 from 1996 to 2001. In 1998 and 1999 Mr. Aubertine served as chairman of the 15 member board.
Since taking office in 2003, Assemblyman Aubertine has served on the Assembly’s Standing Committees on Agriculture; Economic Development, Job Creation and Industry; Energy; Higher Education; Transportation; and the Legislative Commission on the Development of Rural Resources. In 2005, he was proud to join the Veterans Affairs Committee and be appointed Chairman of the Commission on State-Local Relations, and in 2006 he was named co-chair of the New York Coalition of Great Lakes Legislators.
