The County Chairs Speak

“On Sunday, Will Barclay shook Darrel Aubertine's hand in front of 300 people and agreed to spend the duration of this campaign living up to Darrel's positive campaign challenge. In his own words, Barclay said he was ‘Happy to pull the ads, happy to pull anything perceived as negative.’ Within hours, he flip-flopped on his agreement by making the ludicrous claim that his attack ads were ‘not negative.’”

“Yesterday morning, the first business day since the debate, Darrel Aubertine held up his end of the bargain and pulled all his ads that feature Will Barclay. Will Barclay unleashed yet another attack ad, followed by a series of press releases that were not only factually untrue, but also attacked Darrel personally.”

”Once more, we call upon Will Barclay to be a man of his word by abiding by the agreement he made on Sunday. If he truly believes that he is the better candidate, he should be willing to have ads focusing on the issues important to the people of Central and Northern New York. If he is not willing to do so, it speaks volumes about his character and his candidacy.”
